Firebolt

It was a sunny day in Jerusalem. The twelve disciples were huddled in a dark room with the shades drawn and the door locked. They were inside because they were afraid to tell people about Jesus. There were a lot of people outside from other countries. A bolt of fire came over their heads, but did not hurt them. Their broken hearts were sewn together. The disciples came outside and began telling the people about how Jesus had risen from the dead. When Peter was speaking, all the foreigners could tell what he was saying, even though they didn't speak his language. The Holy Spirit was living inside their hearts, and they understood and loved Jesus. And so, everybody left and began telling the people about God and Jesus. It was the birthday of the church.

Changed By Blindness

Saul changed his name from Saul to Paul. Paul means "small but humble." Paul persecuted many people who believed in Jesus and God. He was blind for three days until Ananias came and put his hand on Saul's eyes. Then, Saul could see again. After that, Saul had learned his lesson and started believing more in Jesus.

After Saul persecuted Jesus, he was blind for three days. Paul did not drink or eat anything for three days. Soon, a man named Ananias was sent by God. Ananias put his hands on Saul and said, "Brother Saul, the Lord - Jesus, who appeared to you." Saul changed his name to Paul. Paul became nicer and talked a lot about Jesus.

Questions to ponder:

  • Why did Ananias go instead of someone else?
  • How old was he when he was blind?
  • Was Paul scared when he went down to the house in a basket?
  • When did he start hurting people that believed in Jesus?

Paul Explains: The Kingdom of God

  • Without Paul explaining the Kingdom of God, Christianity would not have spread.
  • Every day, the more Paul said, the more people would come.
  • Without the Holy Spirit blinding Paul, the people would never have learned about God's Kingdom.
  • The people disagreed about Paul's statement about his knowledge of the Kingdom of God, because some people never will believe that Jesus is God's son.
  • Paul used to jail and kill people that believed in Jesus.
Questions to ponder:
  • If nobody ever believed Paul, where would we be now?
  • What would happen if Paul did not tell all the stories of God and how Jesus was his son? Many people came to see him and to listen, but not all who heard believed.
  • If Paul did not get blinded by the Holy Spirit, what would have happened? Would we believe, or would the whole world not know what God was or what he did?
